Sobbing for what seemed like a lifetime, she looked at the clock. It was 3 am. The sun wouldn't be up for a while. What if she could make it to the car?
Or worse - what if Juliet, wherever she was, still had the keys? She would be risking her life for nothing.
This thing took her friends. With that kind of speed and power in the beast, it was likely they were already dead. Sorrow quickly turned to anger. A deep dark hatred of this creature overcame her. What has she got to lose? It was either fight... or die.. and now she craved REVENGE.
She pulled out the switchblade. Not the right tool for the right job. She stuck it into the table near the bookcase and fireplace.
No ammo for the guns.
She slowly raised her head to pray to anyone who would listen. At that moment, maybe someone WAS listening, otherwise she wouldn't have thought to grab the chain mail shirt and skirt from the armor and put it on.
A gun would be so good right now... but then the solution hit her so hard it spun her mind around as she turned her attention to the corner wall. Climbing up on the table, she was able to reach the Morning Star flail.
She popped a cassette into the boombox and turned to up to full volume.
¸¸.•*¨*• "...must be my lucky star
...you make the darkness seem so far¸¸.•*¨*•
She barricaded the back door and opened the front door as wide as it would open.
She was going head to head with this bastard with her back against the wall. And it worked.
The massive beast ran in and hurled itself at her... Kelly.. the track star. Kelly. Who had knocked so many out of the park and was her softball team's MVP.
She reacted with a powerful downward swing of the flail.
CONTACT.
It didn't end there. She swung again. And again. AND AGAIN.
"YOU KILLED MY FRIENDS You SON OF A B--" and the next thing she could hear was the sound of a bear surrendering to its massive injuries as air escaped its lungs for the last time.
She was covered in blood. Hot, sticky blood. She smelled burning hair, and a sizzling sound of a chemical reaction - a result of the flailing?
NO.
A result of the silver. She put it all together. The etchings, the silver, the old manuscripts. She continued to beat its lifeless body out of anger, and that's when the change began to take place. It was... transforming. The beast's hair retreated. The color of bare human skin became more visible.
The bulky arms thinned back out, she could now see a face.
The Midnight captures the essence of the 80's perfectly, chasing the setting sun, the romance, the saxophone, the guitars. Pick up Endless Summer. ATOM FORCE

Bart Graft had me hooked when I heard the first song from his album "Art Exhibition". Feel good flavor among all his works. His tracks have a wonderful style and consistency that you will dig. ATOM FORCE
finally got around to listening to the entire album and of course it's great. Android Automatic is a leading retrowave producer since before "synthwave" as a term came into being.. Shane Dangers
